Our client is a dynamic firm that is experiencing impressive growth. Based in a prime Central Auckland/city fringe location this forward-thinking practice has a sizeable and diverse client base.

The above-mentioned growth and current team dynamics have created two new openings within the team.
We are looking for:
1. a strong intermediate to senior business services accountant with a minimum of 3-4 years current or recent NZ CA experience in the field. Ideally, we are looking fro a CA or CPA qualified professional although our client would consider suitably experienced candidates without formal qualifications. (Salary: $75k - $95k per year)
2. An accomplished senior business services accountant or a client manager with 4-5+ years current or recent NZ CA experience in business services. CA or CPA qualifications are essential for this role. (Salary: $90k - $110k per year)
These are client-facing roles, and the successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to take ownership and responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients.
Therefore, good grounding in all aspects of client accounting, tax compliance and business advisory, as well as impeccable client-facing skills are crucial for this role.
Some of the main duties and responsibilities for both roles include but are not limited to:
- preparation of year-end financial statements
- periodic tax compliance (tax returns, including GST, PAYE, Income Tax etc.)
- monthly management reporting
- business planning, forecasting, due diligence
- special purpose reporting
- acting as a first point of contact advisory to a wide range of clients (on a range of accounting, tax and systems issues)
- liaising with Inland Revenue, Lawyers, Banks and other third parties on behalf of your clients
- various ad hoc high-end compliance and value-add projects
Ideally, our client is looking for business services professionals with solid grounding in compliance. For the more senior role, we are looking for a professional with previous experience with value-add projects involving budgeting, cashflow forecasting, valuations, business planning, due diligence etc.
The brief for the lower-end role requires strong compliance experience and offers an excellent potential for the right candidate to expand into consulting work in the future.
Strong Excel skills and ability to create bespoke worksheets will be highly relevant for the more senior role.
Both roles require good working knowledge of Xero/XPA.
