We have a new career opportunity for a CA or CPA qualified accountant based with one of our clients in Northland. Our client is a boutique chartered accounting firm. The firm is well-established and offers a friendly and supportive work environment. This is a lifestyle role that will provide you with variety and exposure to a wide range of SME clients operating across various industries. .
We are looking for an articulate and technically well-rounded business services accountant with sound grounding in client accounting and tax compliance. As the 2IC to the managing director of the firm, you will have some team responsibilities, including training, supervising and managing less experienced team members.
You will have long-term career development plans in the CA sector. In this role, you will be part of a close-knit group of people who like to have fun and enjoy going to work every day.
The main purpose of the role is for the successful candidate to take some of the director’s daily responsibilities. You will take charge of a portfolio of clients. A significant part of your clients will be rural businesses with annual turnover of up to $1 million, although there will be several clients with annual turnover of up to $6 million.
The firm uses Xero and previous experience with this software, while not a must, will be advantageous. Naturally, at this level you will be able to work autonomously and largely unsupervised. Previous reviewing and supervisory experience will be advantageous.
More than anything else, our client is looking for excellent client-servicing and communication skills. Your ability to work in a highly sociable, close-knit team environment will be essential for your long-term success in this role.
