Our client is a young boutique CA practice based in Central Auckland. The firm boasts an original business model and works with a range of highly successful SME businesses across various industries, including construction, technology, professional services and import/distribution to name a few.
Due to sustained growth, the opportunity has arisen for a CA or CPA qualified senior accountant/assistant manager or client manager to join the firm in a hands-on role. In this role you will work with successful entrepreneurial businesses ranging in size from smaller professional services firms with several-hundred-thousand-dollar annual turnover to larger and more complex business turning over $40million annually.
We are looking for a self-driven professional with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work largely unsupervised. The role has strong reviewing and workflow management aspect and will provide the successful candidate with exposure to interesting consulting assignments, including VCFO services to a group of key clients.
In addition, you will work closely alongside the directors and get involved in various advisory and value-add assignments, including cashflow forecasting, due diligence, management reporting, tax and business planning.
Our client is looking for a self-starter and a critical thinker with proven self-management, problem-solving and quality control competencies.
Here is a summary of our client's brief that define the key aspects of the role, and the type of experience required:
- review of all compliance work
- some limited accounts preparation work (but not a lot of it!)
- tax Management, in particular with provisional tax
- VCFO work – prepare / review management reports (Fathom) – not just accounting reports but importantly critically analyse the reports and provide advice that makes an impact, KPI analysis, cash flow reporting (weekly, monthly and annually), budgets, oversee accounts team on VCFO client tasks
- manage a small, outsourced team and their workflow
- various other ad hoc task and responsibilities.
The remuneration is designed to meet the expectations of the right person for this key role in our client's clos-knit team.
This role is with a January/February start although our client is keen to make an appointment before Christmas.
