About the role
Our client has experienced sustained growth in their various service lines, which has created the opportunity for a technically well-rounded business services accountant to join the firm in a newly created role.
This is a client-facing role, which works across three different teams including the business services, client advisory and tax teams in the firm. You will work with a wide range of SME clients, assisting with high-end compliance and advisory projects.
Some of the key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- year-end financial statements
- periodic tax compliance
- communicate complex accounting, business, and tax information to clients
- develop and apply commercial understanding of businesses and key performance indicators
- train and advise clients on accounting software packages
- assist with a range of tax advisory and corporate finance
- various ad hoc duties and responsibilities
About you
We are looking for an articulate business services accountant with proven client-facing experience. Naturally, you will have solid grounding in client accounting and tax compliance. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who has had some exposure to corporate finance type assignments (financial modelling, for example).
Our ideal candidate will have all or most of the following:
- CA or CPA qualifications, or
- provisional CAANZ membership and in final stage of completing CA/CPA studies
- 3-4 years+ of NZCA experience in business services
- good working knowledge of Xero and Excel
- up-to-date knowledge of NZ tax legislation
- proven time management skills
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- ability to build long standing relationships with clients
- good working knowledge of Xero and Excel
