Location: Auckland - Auckland Central
Work Type: Permanent Full Time
Reference: SC11996
Our client is a strong brand in the chartered accounting arena with a sizeable audit division. The firm has long and successful history in the professional services sector in New Zealand and global reach. Having worked with this forward-thinking practice for more than two decades, we have placed many professionals at different levels in their various divisions.
We have a new Central Auckland-based opportunity for an audit manager to join our client in a key role within the Audit practice. The role represents a mix of team and client portfolio management and offers unlimited potential for further professional development and career progression all the way to partner level.
Reporting directly to all audit partners in the firm, some of your key duties and responsibilities will include:
- reviewing and managing teams and client engagements
- assisting your team with complex technical issues relating to external audit
- working on a range of audit and advisory assignments, including internal audit/internal controls/risk management
- assessing and adjusting control review programmes
- participating in and managing special projects such as analytical reviews and due diligence
- driving best practice
- assisting with the design of new processes
- providing training and other assistance as required
- assisting the directors with various strategic and operational initiatives
Due to the team structure and the pool system, you will work with all of the firm’s clients serviced under different partners and across different teams. This means that you will not have a focus on any specific industry. On the contrary, this role can best be described as a generalist role, a role that will provide you with exposure to most industries in the wider commercial sector.
We are looking for a CA or CPA qualified managerial professional with a minimum of 5-6 years current NZCA experience in external audit. Naturally, at this level you will have strong technical grounding in all aspects of external audit and a proven team and client management track record.
The varied nature of the role requires a professional that has been exposed to different entities across many industries. It is unlikely that this role will suit you if your experience has been predominantly with focus on one specific industry.
The successful candidate is likely to have strong technical background, broad work scope and previous experience with IFRS reporting. Excellent report-writing and verbal communication skills and proven client-servicing track record are essential for this role.
Our client is entering an active succession planning stage and is keen to find audit managerial professionals with partnership aspirations. Does that sound like you? Reach out for an exploratory chat today.
